The Royal Chilterns Way is Cycling UK’s brand-new long-distance route. This 174 mile loop through the Chiltern Hills blends gravel paths, forest trails, chalk tracks and quiet country lanes. The mixed terrain creates a true challenge with plenty of short and steep climbs to keep things interesting. Starting in the town of Reading, you’ll pedal through royal history at Reading Abbey, the riverside of Henley-on-Thames, and many historic villages with plenty of cafes, pubs and farmshops along the way. It’s a scenic and mixed venture a stone’s throw away from London, something brand new for 2026.
