My Story

Hello! I'm thrilled to embark on an extraordinary 550-mile journey around the North Coast 500, starting and ending at Inverness Castle with Bike the UK for MS, a cycling adventure dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

My story starts from when I was ten years old, both my dad and I would regularly visit the local parks for a ride on the bikes. On what would be our last ride together, we planned to go around our favourite route around the local country park. To which that week my dad started experiencing symptoms with a diagnosis shortly after, disabling the ability to take part in many activities.

Since receiving his diagnosis 18 years ago with relapsing remitting MS, life seemed to flip on its head. But his ability to keep positive mental attitude and make the most of each day, whilst also being the rock and hard place for me and the family has given me the drive and determination to take on this challenge and give something back the way I know how to.

In 2022 I took part and completed the coast-to-coast route with BTUKFMS a total of 150miles form Whitehaven to Tynemouth. I have since come back in 2023 volunteering as a route leader to help with this year’s riders on Lon Las Cymru and Coast 2 coast (sea 2 Sea) but this time in 2024 I’m keen to get back on the bike and raise as many funds for this amazing charity.

The funds raised go to a variety of causes which range from local MS groups to help funding research projects such as ‘Octopus’ a Multi-arm, multi-Stage trial for progressive MS. I am honoured to be a part of this remarkable initiative, but I cannot achieve our goals alone. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will make a significant impact. It will bring hope to those facing the daily struggles of MS and contribute to raising awareness about this important cause. More information on the links below:
